Grand Canyon, Arizona
May 26, 2010
From Utah I decided to try and make the Grand Canyon for sunset. This place is mesmerizing; absolutely beautiful. As you look out over it the massive scale puts an atmospheric perspective over the scene that makes it look unreal. If, as you are walking the rim trail, you stare out over the edge the canyon seems to separate from the foreground, it’s quite a surreal experience. I caught the fading light filling the canyon just before my cameras battery died. The sunset was beautiful as well, ending with the most brilliant red clouds filling the sky above. Go check this place out, a photograph could never do it justice!

I love this. I can feel the depth and you have the Colorado river so visible winding through way down there. I feel like I am sitting on the rim with you!

Photo is great! I love the way the horizon blends into a straight line with the edges of the canyon. Have a great time, Ryan!
